Local authorities in affected areas inspected Choroní
Mayor Girardot, Pedro Bastidas, along with its executive train yesterday presented themselves to the people of Choroní to see the damage that caused the weather phenomenon occurred last Friday and left
as balance severely affected several homes and at the same time, to articulate with the inhabitants of the town the more immediate solutions.
From early morning, the mayor toured the villages of Santa Clara, El Cumbe, Parnaz, La Colina, Pantojera and other damaged areas, to inspect the site and receive help in the case. In this regard, directs the presence of officials of the Autonomous Institute of the Environment and the Autonomous Institute of urban sanitation, to carry out the work of collection of debris and clearing the streets which are still pieces of huge trees.
Since the affected areas, Bastidas said that the municipal government and regional executive articulated actions to help those affected as a result of the strong wind that swept through this village and at the same time, reaffirmed its commitment to deepen popular participation to go reaching desired development levels.
"We are promoting the highest level of popular organization through Choroní commune, so work together in a single order to meet the needs and priorities that could occur at a time like this for example, but to transfer power to the people" said the Mayor.
Similarly, the mayor reiterated the residents of Choroni, one of the goals set by the City for this area is the creation of a "self-administrative unit" that will generate direct resources to the commune and in this way encourage development plans that are being made.
For today, the mayor Bastidas is scheduled to hold a meeting with the villagers in this seaside village where we will define some of the actions that will be taken to provide aid to those who lost their homes, but also to move forward in strengthening the participation popular with the construction of the commune. This assembly will be held in the spaces of the Passenger Terminal, located at the El Camping, beginning at 10:00 am.
