"No more cheating"
Yesterday, residents of Puerto Colombia sector, community Choroni, staged a demonstration outside City Hall Girardot in order to meet Mayor Humberto Prieto.
The demands of the demonstrators were based on a sporting and cultural project to be built in the coastal town of Choroni and so far has not been possible, this due to the taking of the land for informal traders.
In this regard, Javier Nieves, a spokesman for the Community Council of Puerto Colombia, said the aim of the presence of the group was demanding the mayor's contribution had been agreed as municipal ordinances on the ground that it would be for the sports complex and cultural, were totally ignored by traders who occupy that space today. Similarly, said "we want no more deceit from the mayor, we just want to do their work, which is merely enforcing the law."
For his part, Pedro Liendo, representing the Mayor, said that the Mayor would receive only a group of protesters, not to exceed 7 persons, who were the only ones who entered the building housing the local power.
