"We want no more deceptions'
Yesterday, residents of Puerto Colombia sector of the community Choroni held a demonstration outside the mayor's Girardot in order to meet with Mayor Humberto Prieto.
The demands of the demonstrators were based on a sporting and cultural project to be constructed in the coastal town of Choroni and that so far has not been possible, this due to the taking of land for informal traders.
In this regard, Javier Nieves, a spokesman for the council of Puerto Colombia, said that the aim of the group's presence was due to the contribution that the mayor had been agreed, as municipal ordinances on the ground that it would be for sports and culture, were completely ignored by traders who now occupy that space. In the same way, said "we want no more deceit from the mayor, we only want to do their work, which is nothing more than enforce the law."
For his part, Pedro Liendo, representing the mayor, explained that the Mayor would receive only a group of protesters, not to exceed 7 persons, who were the only ones who entered the building where the municipal power. Similarly, it is important to emphasize that we could not hear the conclusions of this meeting in his office because he was denied free access to the press.
